2024: Week 50 in Review

The week started out with a lovey day, warm enough to let me spend the afternoon mowing, getting most of the fallen leaves mulched and/or blown off of the grass. The mower is now tucked away in the shed, safe and cold. Hopefully the mice won’t eat all the wiring this year.

Gasoline prices are way down; I filled up the Kia on Monday for less than $30.00.

I started reading Children of Ruin by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It’s the 2nd book of a trilogy, but in a different setting from the first book. So far only one of the characters from the first novel has been mentioned.

In other thrilling news, I got a haircut, we got a brief bit of snow, and the wife was exposed to COVID. There are no obvious symptoms so far, and I’m really hoping that continues. The last thing we need is a round of Christmas Time COVID.

Almost all of the Christmas trees at our local tree lot are gone, and there probably won’t be another shipment. I’m amazed at how fast they sell out now. I remember when you could go out on Christmas Eve and have a good selection to choose from.
